Events & Entertainment | 2013 VMA’s

If you happened to miss the Video Music Awards (VMA’s) this year, some may say you were lucky. As always we expect the unexpected, hope for a wardrobe malfunction and pray that Kanye remains in his seat. The night began with the infamous red carpet pre-show, where Miley Cyrus danced the mariachi and Kate Perry got roar-tastic in a leopard minidress from Emmanual Ungaro

The event which took place at the Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn, was a show stopper for several reasons. The rumors were thankfully true, as N*SYNC appeared on stage, for the first time since 2001. They stole the hearts and eyes of everyone in the center singing their hit song’s, “Girlfriend” and “Bye, Bye, Bye.” But while the trip down memory lane caught headlines and had viewers at home on their feet dancing, the controversial performance by Miley Cyrus took the cake with over 100,000 tweets within minutes of her entering stage. She opened up with a performance of “Can’t Stop” surrounded by dancers in bear suits, and was then joined on stage by Robin Thicke were the two sang, “Blurred Lines.” While both songs are major hits, Miley’s twerking and tan plastic bathing suit caused jaws to drop and heads to shake.
